What reasonable adjustments can be made?
A reasonable adjustment can be granted to someone who has a disability, medical condition or learning need that may affect them during the assessment. For example, assistance could be given with reading and writing. You must however be able to get to the floor unaided and successfully demonstrate all required elements of any practical assessment on your own, with the casualty on the floor as in a real life situation
-
Do I need to purchase any books to take part in the training?
There is no requirement for you to purchase any books prior to your training. Once you have completed your course, should you wish to purchase an ebook of the training you have received, we can arrange this for you via our awarding training body Nuco Training - there is a small charge per person for the ebook licence which will last for 3 years.
-
Are there assessments as part of my course?
Yes, your trainer will need to make sure you are competent in order for you to successfully pass the course. Assessment takes place throughout and its a mixture of theory and practical. You’ll be given lots of advice and encouragement along the way. If there are any concerns, please raise them with your trainer as soon as possible.
If you do not pass the course, we will issue you with an attendance of the course certificate however this does not mean you are certified. You would need to resit and pass the course to achieve certified status.
-
How many students are there per course?
Whichever course you attend, there will always only be a maximum of 12 students and all learners will be adults (18+ years and over). This will ensure that you will have ample opportunity to practice using any equipment that is provided.
-
Do Trymfit First Aid provide online courses or are they all face to face?
As an accredited training provider there is clear guidance relating to what training must take place in person, this is to ensure that our trainers can make sure you are using the equipment safely and you are confident to use these skills in an emergency situation. Our 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course is all in person. Our 3 day First Aid at Work course has some sessions that can take place via a webinar.
-
What do I need for my course?
We will provide you with everything you need for your course however you will need to bring a form of photo ID and we suggest you bring pens and notebooks. Please wear comfortable clothes and sensible shoes - due to the nature of the practical sections of the course you will be needing to get on the floor to attend to a ‘casualty’.
Please also bring your own lunch - your joining instructions will contain details of the facilities available at the training venue however for all locations there will be no microwave to heat food, so sarnies and salads only!
